Chinese project organization is Research Institute of Forest Resources Information Technique, Chinese Academy of Forestry. 3.ExecutingDuration Three years, from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2017. 4.Contentsand Results (1) Contents The contents of the project are: (a) Study on data integration and data fusiontechnology& methodology, to handle the 5 layers of forest managementdata. (b) Study on thepattern of multi-functional forest management based on the multi-layer forest data. (c)Study on quantifying models and methods for multi-functional forest management, and design of management plan on forest management unit (FMU) with supports of the multi-layer database. (2)Results The project has obtained fruitful innovation and results in both fields of data integration technology of multi-layer forest management data based on remote-sensing and ground-monitoring sources, and quantifying pattern & technology of multi-functional forest management. The briefs are as following. (a)The forest measurement, data collection and data processing have been completed, and then the forest management database with the multi-layer data of the Experiment Area has been established. The5layersof data sets nearly cover 600 KM2 of the forest in the Experiment Area. (b)The optimized models of knowledge retrieval and knowledge discovery based on the multi-layer data of forest management have been produced. (c) The demonstration patterns of the multi-functional forest management based on demonstration forest in experiment areahave been produced. (d)The integration & application system of the multi-layer data for forest management has been established, and the System has been operated and applied in the Experiment Area.
