MoU Signed between Chinese Academy of Forestry and Czech University of Life Sciences Prague

Prof. Zhang Shougong, President of the Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF) and Prof. Petr Skleni ka, President of Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, signed a MOU for the cooperation between the two organizations on June 11, 2018, during CAF delegation’s visit to the university. Both sides shared knowledge and viewpoints about the forest research cooperation under the framework of China-CEECs forestry cooperation.

 

Discussion on disciplinary development and education and research management was held with the forestry colleagues from the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences of the University, including Marek Turčáni, Dean of the Faculty, Róbert Marušák, Vice Dean for international cooperation, Jan Kašpar, Vice Dean for education, Radek Rinn, Vice Dean for faculty development, and Tomáš Kušta, Vice Dean for research. Guided tours were organized to faculty’s laboratories on fungi cultivation, dendrochronology, and wood processing and the arboretum owned by the faculty.

 

The CAF delegation also visited Forestry and Game Management Research Institute of Czech to understand the latter’s research on forest resources management, forest resources inventory, forest management planning and implementation.

 

The CAF delegation consisted of heads of its research institutes on subtropical forestry, forest resource information techniques, resource insects, wood industry and also director of international cooperation.
